The 2013 Bicentennial of the Defeat of the British Army by Young Col. Croghan at Two Ohio Forts
Submitted by FallsLibrary on Fri, 01/18/2013 - 5:12pmPresented by Sharon Myers of DAR, hear how in July of 1813, when Croghan was only 21 years old, was placed in command at Fort Stephenson, Ohio, on the Sandusky River. In August the British and Indians under attacked the fort. Croghan, with only 160 men and one 6 lb. cannon, "Old Betsy", defeated them.
