Annual Poetry Contest
Pick up entry forms in the Children's Room beginning March 1. Sponsored, judged and cash prizes awarded by The Poet's Nook. Prizes will be awarded in April for age groups 6-8, 9-11, and 12-14 for National Poetry Month. Submissions due by March 31.
Read to the Dogs
Studies show that reading to a dog can be very effective and beneficial to children who are becoming independent readers, especially 'reluctant readers'. On five consecutive Saturdays in the nooks and crannies of the Children's Room, kids in grades K-5 are invited to read to certified therapy dogs between 11:00 and 12:00. First come, first served, children will read to a dog for approximately 15 minutes.
Homeschool Hub
March 1 and April 8 at 10 a.m.
This monthly meeting is for homeschoolers or those who are considering it. Discuss ideas for speakers, current practices and more. Drop in, registration is not required.
