FALL STORY TIME SCHEDULE
Due to our ongoing renovation project, our story times have concluded slightly earlier than usual for 2015. We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to both Giant Eagle Market District and Quirk Cultural Center for allowing us to hold our story time programs at their facilities. Watch for more information on future Children's programs.
In the meantime, the Children's Room is still open for business. We welcome you to stop in over the holiday season to relax, read and play, and watch the construction move along through the "portholes."
A million thanks to all of the local businesses who so generously supported our Children's Summer Reading Program, "Every Hero Has a Story!" Because of their generosity, we registered over 1,400 children who were excited to receive an incentive and encouragement each week for continuing to read throughout the summer.
- Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation
- Dairy Queen
- Eat 'n Park
- Friends of the Cuyahoga Falls Library
- Marc's Deli & Subs
- Metropolis Popcorn
- Rocco's Pizza Shop, Portage Trail
A big thank you also goes out to our Teen volunteers, whose energy, enthusiasm and extra hands were invaluable each week during our Fantastic Fun program.
And finally, a special thank you to the handlers from our "Read to the Dogs" program who come to the Library each week and share their amazing certified therapy dogs, to help children keep up their reading skills.
Stop by the Children's Room Information Desk for a Baby Bingo card. The early literacy activities on the Bingo card are designed with baby in mind! Every time you do one of the activities, put an "x" through it. Once you've completed the card stop back at the Desk for a free board book for baby. There are four titles so we encourage you to do the activities repeatedly and collect all four!
1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN
It's never too early to start reading to your child. With this early literacy program, we're encouraging you to commit to reading 1,000 books to your child before they go to kindergarten. Children who listen to 500 books will earn a book to keep and those who reach 1,000 will receive a commemorative "1000BBK" tee shirt.
Stop by the Children's Room for details and to sign up. This is an ongoing program so you can sign up anytime.
