1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
It's never too early to start reading to your child. With this new early literacy pilot program, we're encouraging you to commit to reading 1,000 books to your child before they go to Kindergarten. Children who listen to 500 books will earn a book to keep and those who reach 1,000 will receive a commemorative "1,000 Books" t-shirt.
Come to the Children's Room for details and to sign up beginning Saturday, September 7. This is an ongoing program so you can sign up at any time.
Thank you to all of the local businesses for their generosity in sponsoring our Summer Reading Program. We registered 1,500 children for the program this summer! Sponsors include:

- Dairy Queen
- Eat 'n Park
- Handel's homemade ice cream & yogurt
- Marco's Pizza

Thanks to the generosity of The Friends of the Cuyahoga Falls Library, the Children's Room has seven new touch screen game computers, just in time for the start of Summer Reading Program on June 5! Five of them are AWE Early Literacy Stations with games that are appropriate for children ages 3 - 8. And we have two additional new AWE AfterSchool Edge computers with games for children ages 8 - 12. So when the heat index is over 100 this summer and you need a place to stay cool, the Children's Room is the perfect place to read, play and relax!
