Join local author and historian, Jeri Holland, as she explores Christmas memories and traditions practiced by the citizens of Summit County, from pioneers to the present time. Take a nostalgic look at shopping and window gazing in downtown Akron and discover multicultural influences on various toys and gifts that were shared among families through the years.

Archie the Talking Snowman is Coming Back to Life

For 35 years, children visited Archie, a 20 foot giant who debuted in Akron in 1968 at Chapel Hill Mall. This year Archie returns as part of Akron's annual Holidayfest at Lock 3. Join members of the Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society and their guest speakers Tommy Uplinger and David Burkett to hear about Archie's revival and upcoming plans.

The Cuyahoga Community Chorus Performs

Murder and Mayhem in Akron and Summit County

Monday, December 3 at 7 p.m.

Meet with local author, historian and paranormal researcher, Jeri Holland to explore her new book about the darker side of life and death in our neck of the woods. The history of Akron and Summit County stretches back over 200 years and in that time many of its citizens have schemed, murdered, injured or otherwise been up to no good against against their fellow man. Copies of Jeri's books will be available for purchase and signing.

Anime Club in January

Calling all Otaku!  Anime club meets every other week at the Cuyahoga Falls Library.  The next anime club meets in January on  Wednesday, January 9 and January 23, from 7:00 - 8:30.  Young adults ages 12-17 are invited to drop in and check out the Anime Club.  Anyone younger than 15 is required to have a signed parental permission slip.   If you are interested or have any questions, please email Jen Morton at or call her at 330-928-2117.
