On Display: Books from our Original 1912 Collection

Come see our display of books from Taylor Library's Original 1912 Collection in the cases upstairs and downstairs.  Several lovely picture plates are featured, and they give a glimpse at what interested people 100 years ago.  Our community particularly seemed to like history and books about other lands.  Highlighted are books by Edward R. Sill, a nationally-known poet from Cuyahoga Falls who lived in the mid 19th century and who also helped start our local schools and library.  read more »

See us in the Parade August 11

Come see us in the Cuyahoga Falls bicentennial parade on Saturday, August 11, 10-11 a.m. Our float will be a replica of the original Taylor Library, and you can vote for us in the People's Choice award by texting our float number (192) to 330-510-1511 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday; the winner  will be announced at 5 p.m., during the Crooked River Summerfest at the Falls River Square Amphitheatre. The parade starts on Portage Trail near Bolich and ends in front of the city building.  read more »

Join Victorian historian Laura Loew of Lost in the Past as she brings 1912 to 2012. We'll discuss the current events, fashion, and everyday life of 100 years ago as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Cuyahoga Falls Library. Laura will be bringing lots fascinating antique memorabilia for attendees to admire.
