Spark a Reaction! Summer Reading Program, June 5 - August 2

Cleveland Sports History

Tuesday, June 17, 7 p.m.

This illustrated presentation outlines the history of major sports in Cleveland, touching upon some of the area’s most noted sports heroes while also examining the manner in which games became a central part of the region’s economy. With Dr. John Grabowski, Senior VP of Research and Krieger Mueller Historian at Western Reserve Historical Society.

SUMMER STORY TIMES begin June 17 and continue through July 24

Rock-a-Bye Tales: 6 to 23 months. Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

Story Times for 2 - 5's: Tuesday at 10:15 a.m.; Tuesday at 11 a.m.; Thursday at 10:15 a.m.

Registration is not required for summer story times.

WACKY WEDNESDAY: June 18 - July 23, 11:00 a.m. Weekly science, art or craft fun for ages 5 - 11. A limited number of free tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program begins.  read more »

Anime Club for May and COSPLAY

Just a reminder that Anime club is still going strong at Cuyahoga Falls library.  We meet two times a month, on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30.  In May, we will have Anime club on May 14 and May 28. 

During Anime Club on May 14, we will work on designing a banner to carry in the community parade.

And to celebrate the end of the school year, we will be having a Cosplay party on May 28, and wishing farewell to several graduating members.  We will miss you!!   read more »

May Teen Advisory Board

The April TAB meeting was a success, but we are still looking to add more members.  For the May meeting, we are going to start working on the Teen Summer Reading Program.  Ms. Jen needs your help!

May's TAB  meeting is Thursday, May 8, from 4:00 - 5:00.

Members of the Teen Advisory Board, or TAB, will help plan programs for other teens, select books, movies and music for the teen collection, and work towards making this library a fun and safe place for other teens to come and enjoy.  read more »

Geek Out!

Are you a fanboy, otaku, a Whovian, or video game obsessed?  Do you play RPG’s, Pokemon, YuGiOh, or Magic the Gathering?

It doesn’t matter why you Geek Out, you are invited to come and Geek Out at the library on Wednesday, April 30 from 7:00 - 8:30.   There will be snacks. 

Bring your favorite game, or geek item to share.  It can be a DS, a card game, or special artifact.  Ms. Jen will be bringing her 3dsXL, and the game Munchkin, and much more.

Anyone in grades 6 - 12 is welcome to attend.

March Madness Battle of the Books Winner is....

Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan!  This was a surprising upset over Harry Potter, which held strong through all the rounds, and seemed like a shoe-in to take home the win.

Congrats to the winner, Nick,  who had the highest number of correct bracket picks.  Thank you to everyone who participated in March Madness 2014.
